ARE YOU 16 TO 24 YEARS OLD?
JOIN THE CRAFT OF BEEKEEPING, BE PART OF A HERITAGE OF OVER 15,000 YEARS
The London Honey Company is proud to be passing on the craft of beekeeping traditions to a new generation, through our participation in the Beefarmers Association Apprenticeship Scheme which takes 3 years to complete and is currently open to 16 to 24 year olds.
We’re looking for someone with the energy, attention to detail and work ethic of a honeybee and an equal love of honey & the outdoors!
It’s a dream job if you enjoy some hard graft. One minute you’re assisting beekeeping on some of London’s most iconic rooftops, from Fortnum & Mason to the Tate, the next, you’re camping out on a heather moor in Shropshire and seeing the sun come up, or taking a dip in a lake after a hot day beekeeping in Kent. Not a 9 till 5, but we make a good brew.
You will primarily be based at our beekeeping sites in the South East of England, so it's best if you live in either in Kent or London. However we will also consider candidates in the Cotswolds. Must drive & have a clean full licence.
Some time will be spent preparing and maintaining beekeeping equipment.
As well as gaining practical experience through working as part of our beekeeping team, you'll get expert training on: botany and forage sources, pollen and nutrition, honey bee anatomy, honey bee diseases, setting up a business and food hygiene amongst other topics.
For more information please see the Bee Farmers Association website.
Pay package to be discussed on an individual basis, but over minimum apprentice wage.
